Secure Email Communication

Dr. Sehon provides a platform to communicate securely via email known as a Practice Portal.

What is the purpose of the portal?

Dr. Sehon has established the patient portal to provide a secure method for transmitting emails between Dr. Sehon, and you and your family members. Dr. Sehon utilizes the portal to securely send you billing statements and payment receipts.

How is the portal not to be used?

The portal is not meant as an alternative to direct communications between you and Dr. Sehon, regarding clinical matters that you need to properly discuss in person. Certainly, no urgent or emergent matters should be sent via the portal.  Rather, Dr. Sehon requests that you contact her by telephone at +1-301.642.6162.

How does the portal work?

Each patient is assigned a portal account which is linked to one email address of your choosing.

How can you begin using the portal?

Once you provide Dr. Sehon with your email address, Dr. Sehon will send you a welcome email. Once you sign on to the portal, you will be prompted to enter a username and password.  It is recommended that you create a new password, that is at least 8 characters long with  numerical, upper case and lower-case letters, and a special character.

How quickly can you expect a reply from Dr. Sehon to your emailed message ?

Dr. Sehon will review your message between Monday through Friday during regular business hours of 7 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.. Every effort will be made to respond to your email within 48 hours of receipt unless Dr. Sehon is away on vacation when she will reply to you within 2 days of returning to the office.  As noted above, please contact her by phone at +1-301.642.6162 if your message requires more timely attention.  Emergency coverage information will also be accessible to you via +1-301.642.6162, when she is away on vacation.
