Unearth deep-rooted change through intensive therapy & psychoanalysis

Therapeutic Journey

Commencing a therapeutic journey can be a significant decision.  I am creating brief videos to give you a more experience-near sense of who I am and how I work. I hope the videos helps you feel more comfortable exploring the possibility of our working together. Thank you.

Adult Therapy

Many adults pursue therapy to alleviate persistent symptoms, navigate ongoing life challenges, or address long-standing relationship patterns that obstruct a more fulfilling life.

I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy, a treatment modality of depth, insight, and relationship.  This approach has been empirically demonstrated to be as effective as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or medication.

Psychoanalytic therapy investigates the thoughts, feelings, dreams and other expressions of the patient's unconscious mind that shapes their current experiences. A deep and trusting therapeutic relationship is developed between the therapist and patient, and plays a central role in facilitating profound and lasting changes in the patient's personality and life.

Child & Adolescent  Therapy

As a child psychoanalyst, I focus on understanding each child's inner world, recognizing that development is shaped by the interplay of their physical and emotional makeup, upbringing, and family, community, and cultural influences. I pay close attention to how past experiences, which children may not fully grasp, can affect their current feelings and behaviors.

In therapy, I create a safe space for children and adolescents to explore developmental challenges, emotional distress, and past trauma.

I closely collaborate with parents to deepen their understanding of their child's inner world, support the parent-child relationship, and promote growth and well-being for the whole family.

Couple Therapy

When couples face significant challenges, it can affect the well-being of the entire family. Often, the core of the distress lies within the couple's relationship itself, or its impact is felt throughout the family, rather than being confined to just one individual.

I specialize in psychoanalytic couple therapy, a method that focuses on uncovering the often-unconscious patterns and dynamics that contribute to destructive relationship cycles.

My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where each partner feels heard and understood. Through this process, couples can gain valuable insights, improve communication, and develop healthier ways of relating, leading to lasting positive change.

Family  Therapy

Family therapy offers a powerful way to address difficulties that affect the entire family system. Often, what appears to be an individual's struggle is deeply connected to patterns of interaction and dynamics within the family as a whole.

My approach to family therapy is grounded in psychoanalytic principles, providing a deep and insight-oriented exploration of these family dynamics. We would work collaboratively to uncover unconscious patterns, relational challenges, and communication styles that may be contributing to the family's distress.

By understanding these hidden influences—the workings of the family's "inner world"—we can facilitate significant change.

Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalysis is the most in-depth therapeutic approach focused on understanding the complexities of the human mind. Through a collaborative and attuned therapeutic relationship, the psychoanalyst creates a safe space to explore unconscious patterns that may be hindering the person's full potential.

This intensive therapy typically involves meeting three to five times weekly for 45-minute sessions.  During these sessions, the patient is encouraged to freely share their thoughts, feelings, and memories in a setting that supports deep self-reflection.

As a psychoanalyst, I will discuss with you whether this approach aligns with your needs.

Teletherapy  & Teleanalysis

I offer the option of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis through teletherapy and teleanalysis, utilizing a secure video platform. While teletherapy and teleanalysis have  potential benefits in terms of accessibility and flexibility, it's crucial to acknowledge that the online environment introduces specific factors that require careful attention.

Over the past 20 years, I have been deeply engaged with the unique dynamics of this modality. My training and experience emphasize understanding the nuances of the therapeutic setting, the role of the screen, and the ways unconscious dynamics are conveyed in this context.

My expertise is grounded in leading a distance professional learning environment (International Psychotherapy Institute or IPI) and previously chairing the International Teleanalysis Clinical Research Group at IPI.

I work collaboratively with you to create a therapeutic experience that strives for depth and effectiveness, while remaining mindful of the distinct characteristics of working online.
